CartSignal

Sample merchant report

Sample AI-readiness audit report

This anonymized example shows the kind of practical, public-signal report CartSignal can prepare for merchants. It is not a live audit of a specific store and does not guarantee AI rankings, citations, recommendations, traffic, or revenue.

Scope note: A real audit should use the merchant’s public URL, sampled product pages, sitemap, robots.txt, schema markup, metadata, and any approved product feed. CartSignal does not change the merchant site or contact customers without explicit approval.

Merchant intake fields for a real first pass

A useful AI-readiness review starts with a small, repeatable set of public signals. Merchants can send these details through the contact page so the first report focuses on concrete product-discovery blockers instead of vague AI visibility claims.

Store and platform Primary store URL, ecommerce platform if known, one priority product/category URL, and whether the site is Shopify, WooCommerce, custom, SaaS, or marketplace-style.
Machine-readable assets Known sitemap URL, robots.txt URL, product feed/catalog URL if one exists, and any approved public documentation about shipping, returns, subscriptions, or product limitations.
Business context Target buyer, priority product category, top competitors to compare against, and the main action a visitor should take after discovering the product.

Example readiness score

Sample result: promising but incomplete

The example store is crawlable and has basic product pages, but AI/search systems may have trouble extracting consistent offer details because product schema and feed fields are incomplete.

Crawler access robots.txt and sitemap are reachable. No obvious sitewide block was found in this sample scenario.
Structured data Product schema is present on some pages, but Offer fields are inconsistent across sampled products.
Feed readiness A clean JSON or merchant feed would make product names, descriptions, images, categories, and limitations easier to parse.

Priority fix list

  1. Add complete Product and Offer schema on key product pages, including name, description, image, brand, SKU when available, price or price range where appropriate, availability, and canonical URL.
  2. Create or clean up a product feed so assistants and search systems can read product categories, buyer fit, limitations, seller, and disclosure fields without relying only on page rendering.
  3. Tighten page metadata so titles, descriptions, OpenGraph tags, visible page copy, and schema describe the same product and use case.
  4. Review crawler access after changes by checking robots.txt, sitemap coverage, noindex tags, redirects, and JavaScript-heavy page dependencies.

Scorecard rubric used in the sample

The score is a simple diagnostic aid, not a ranking prediction. It helps merchants decide which fixes should come before content, ads, or outreach.

Crawlability: 25 points Public homepage, product pages, sitemap, robots.txt, canonical tags, noindex status, redirects, and obvious JavaScript or bot-protection blockers.
Product data: 35 points Product/Offer schema, names, descriptions, images, brand, SKU or variant signals when available, availability language, and consistent visible copy.
AI-readable context: 25 points Clean feed or catalog, buyer-fit language, limitations, support/refund context, comparison context, and metadata that matches page content.
Actionability: 15 points Clear priority fixes, owner/developer handoff notes, and separation between public facts, assumptions, and items requiring merchant confirmation.
